MARHABA

Our place, MARHABA, is located right on the ground floor of DC-114 on VIP Main Road. If you are around Deshbandhunagar, you might have seen us near the Collage More. We are just opposite the girls' hostel, which means there are always people moving about outside. Kolkata is a busy city and this part of it never really stays quiet for long. We open up the shop and start setting things up while the traffic is still building up on the main road. It is a straightforward setup we have here. We don't use any fancy decorations or anything like that. The floors get swept, the tables get wiped, and we start the day’s work. Being near the college area means we see a lot of students and young people throughout the day. They are usually in a hurry, so we try to keep things moving as fast as we can. The weather gets quite humid here, especially in the afternoons, so we just try to stay cool while working. We’ve been in this building for some time now and it feels like a normal part of the neighborhood. People stop by when they’re hungry or just passing through the area. It isn't a complicated business, just a local spot where we serve what we make. We keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day. We usually close up once the evening crowd thins out and everything is cleaned up for the next morning.
