Mangalam Veg Restaurant

We are located right on Jessore Road in Michael Nagar, very close to the B T College bus stand. Being near the bus stand means there is always a lot of movement outside our door. We only serve vegetarian food here. It’s a simple setup with rows of tables and chairs. We have been here in the 700133 area for years, and we see the same faces almost every day. The fans on the ceiling hum along all day to keep the air moving. It can get pretty loud when the buses go by or when the lunch crowd comes in all at once. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars and the menu board. The kitchen is right there, and you can hear the pots and pans clinking while you wait. We try to get the food out fast because most of our customers are on their way to work or heading home. We keep the drinking water station filled and make sure the napkins are stocked. It is not a place for a long, quiet dinner; it is more for getting a good meal and moving on with your day. We just do what we do, cooking up vegetables and lentils for whoever walks in. It is a plain, hardworking kind of restaurant for a hardworking part of Kolkata.
