Lollipop

Our shop, Lollipop, is situated in the Jyangra Kali Tala area of Baguihati. We are quite close to the SBI Bank, so we get a lot of people walking past our door every day. It is a small place, and we have filled it with all sorts of items that people in the neighborhood might need. Most of our day is spent sitting on a stool behind the counter, waiting for customers to come in. We know a lot of the people who live around here, and we often chat with them while they look around. Baguihati is a very busy part of Kolkata, and the noise from the road never really stops. The shop can get quite warm in the afternoon, so we keep the fan running all the time, even though it makes a bit of a racket. We don't have any big plans or corporate goals. We just want to keep the shop going and make sure the shelves aren't empty. Every morning we roll up the shutters and every night we lock them back down. It is a very predictable routine. We spend a lot of time dusting the products because the road outside is always under construction or just busy. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city. We are just here in our little corner of Baguihati doing our thing. Some days are slow, but that is just how retail goes sometimes.
