People around Nawapara Main Road usually know where we are. We're right there on the ground floor at 136, not too far from City Centre 2 in Hatiara. Kolkata is a busy place, and this corner of Hatiara is no different. We’ve been running things here for a while now, just doing our daily work. It’s a local spot where you see the same faces every day walking by. Sometimes the traffic on the main road gets loud, but that’s just how it is around here. We open up every morning and get things ready. It isn’t fancy, just a regular shop floor. Most of our neighbors stop in when they are headed towards the mall or coming back home. We try to keep things simple. Dealing with the heat in the summer or the rain in the monsoon keeps us busy. You can find us easily if you know the area near Bablatala or the main road. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything. It's more about being there when someone needs something. The floors get swept, the shutters go up, and we start the day. Being in Kolkata means there is always something happening outside the door. We just stay focused on what’s inside. It’s a small space but it works for us. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, with more buildings coming up, but we stay right here at ground level. It's just Gayens, doing what we do.
