Chennai Xpress

Located at P 13 in Bangur Avenue. Kolkata is a busy city, and this neighborhood is no different. We are right opposite the HDFC Bank. People going to the bank or coming from the market often pop in. It’s a compact space. We had to figure out how to fit everything in without it feeling too tight. The walls have a few scuffs here and there. We don’t spend much on fancy paint. The kitchen is right there, so you hear the pans and the shouting of orders. It’s just us working through the day. Bangur Avenue has a lot of trees, which is nice when it’s hot. We see a lot of students and office workers. Some people just want to sit for a minute and check their phones. We have the usual tables and a few fans. It gets busy around one o’clock. Sometimes we run out of chairs and people have to wait on the sidewalk. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many people coming through, it’s a constant job. The street noise is always there. It’s a good spot though. We like the neighborhood. Most of our neighbors know us by name now. We just do the work and close up when the sun goes down. There isn't much more to it than that. Just a simple shop on a busy Kolkata street.
