Wood Pecker Food Plaza

Wood Pecker Food Plaza is in Haldwani, right on the Nainital Road in Kathgodam. We are situated near the Hydel Gate. This is a very busy road because it’s the main way people go up into the hills toward Nainital. We see a lot of tourists who are stopping for a break before they start the climb up the mountains. It’s a good spot because the air starts to feel a little bit cooler here than it does further down in the plains. Our place is quite large so we can fit in the groups that come through. The kitchen is always moving, especially during the peak tourist season when everyone is traveling. We don't have any fancy marketing or a corporate office. It’s just a local food plaza run by local people. We spend a lot of time trying to keep up with the crowd when the traffic on Nainital Road gets heavy. Some days are very busy and others are quiet when the weather is bad. We just take it as it comes. The Hydel Gate is a landmark that most people know, so it’s easy to find us. We don't do anything too fancy with the service. We just provide a place for travelers to sit down and have a decent meal before they continue their journey. It’s an honest, simple business for the road. We try our best to keep everyone fed.
