Dilli Walas

We’re located at Dilli Walas, which is shop number eight inside the Durga City Centre on Nainital Road. If you are in Haldwani and near the IDBI Bank, you are basically right there. The mall can get pretty busy on the weekends, but we are there every day regardless. It is a small shop, so we have to be very organized with where we put our supplies and how we set up the kitchen. Usually, one of us is out front and the others are working in the back. We have been here for a while and have seen the shops around us change, but we just keep doing what we do. The noise from the main road is always there, but inside the city centre, it feels a bit more contained. We spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners nearby when things are quiet. It’s a simple life running a shop in Haldwani. We have to deal with the deliveries coming in through the back and making sure the counter is clean for the next person. We don’t have any big slogans or anything. We just make the food and hope people like it enough to come back next week. Sometimes the lights flicker or the fridge makes a weird noise, and we just deal with it. It’s a regular job for us and we just try to get through the daily list of things to do.
