THE GORGEOUS RESTAURANT

Running a place up here on Bhowali Road in Nainital comes with its own set of challenges, especially when the weather turns. We’re located near the Bhimtal road junction, which is a spot where a lot of travelers pass through on their way to the lakes. Despite the name, we aren't trying to be anything too stylish or over-the-top. We just wanted a solid place for people to stop and eat when they’re driving through the hills. The kitchen gets busy during the tourist season, but we also have local folks who come in regularly throughout the year. The view outside changes with the mist, but inside, things stay pretty much the same. We have some wooden tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. We do our own cleaning and shopping for supplies, often driving down the road to get what we need. It’s a family-run kind of setup. Sometimes the power goes out when there’s a storm, and we just light some candles and keep going. People don't seem to mind much. We aren't part of any big chain, so we just do things our own way. It’s a simple life up here in 263001. We focus on hot food and a place to rest for a bit before you head back out onto the winding roads. It’s just how we live and work in this part of the mountains.
