Najrul Sangha Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Bokhara village. We work out of Ebrahim Khalilullah’s place. It’s a pretty standard village setup here in Murshidabad. We are a group of local farmers who decided to join up to make things easier for everyone when it comes to selling our harvests. Being in a rural spot like this means we spend more time on our tractors or in the fields than we do sitting behind a desk. When we do have to handle the business side, we meet up at Ebrahim’s and go over the numbers. It’s usually loud with people talking and the sound of the village outside. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment in the office, just the basics to keep things legal and registered. Sometimes the internet is slow, so sending emails takes forever. We mostly grow what's in season and try to coordinate our efforts so we can get better prices at the market. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes we disagree on things, but we figure it out eventually. We've known each other for years, so it's more like working with family. There’s no big hierarchy here. Everyone just does their part. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields pays off for our families. It’s a tough life but it’s what we know. We just take it one day at a time and hope for the best every year.
