Hariharpara Farmers Producer Company Limited is based right here in Hariharpara, Murshidabad. We are just a group of farmers who live and work in the village. This isn't a fancy setup. We use a small space near the post office for our meetings. Most of our day is spent out in the fields, so if you come by at noon, you might not find anyone in the office. We deal with the crops that grow best in this part of West Bengal. It’s a lot of rice and jute usually. We try to help each other get a fair price because the big buyers can be tough. It’s honest work, even if it’s tiring. We don't have many employees, just us members doing the lifting and the hauling. Sometimes we get together to talk about new ways to keep the soil healthy without spending too much money. It’s a bit of a struggle when the weather doesn't play along. We’ve had some bad years, but we stick together. It’s better than being on your own. People here know us by name. We don't need a big sign. We just want to keep the village farms going for the next generation. It’s nothing special, just a bunch of neighbors working the land like our fathers did before us.
