Lalgola Farmers Producer Company Limited operates out of Vill-Bausi Pukurpara. We’re tucked away in the Lalgola area of Murshidabad. Most of us have lived here our whole lives. We set this company up because it was getting harder to manage everything separately. We meet up near Upar Fatepur to discuss what we’re going to grow each season. It’s a simple arrangement. There’s no big corporate building, just our homes and the fields. We share the costs of the seeds and the fertilizer whenever we can. It helps keep the costs down a little bit. Farming in Lalgola is what we know. We deal with the mud, the insects, and the long hours under the sun. It’s not a glamorous life. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we help each other out with it. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just talk face to face. If there’s a problem with a crop, we all go take a look at it. It’s about surviving as a group. We aren't trying to impress anyone. We just want to make sure the harvest is good enough to pay the bills. The village is quiet, and that’s how we like it. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
