You can find us over in Banalipara, near Alaipuramtala in the Farakka area. We set up Farakka Farmers Producer Company Limited at Uttamkr Das’s place because we needed a central spot to organize. Murshidabad has its own way of doing things, and we are proud to be part of the local farming scene here. Our group is made up of people who have spent their whole lives in these fields. It’s not an easy job, but it’s what we know. We deal with the typical struggles of farming like pests, bad weather, and finding people to buy what we grow. By working together, we can share the burden a little bit. We don't have a big corporate strategy. Our plan is basically just to grow the crops we can and make sure everyone in the group gets a fair shake. The Farakka region is quite unique, and we try to make the most of the land we have in Mouja Alaipur. There are days when everything feels like a mess, but then the harvest comes in and it all feels worth it. We aren't looking for fame, just a way to keep our farms running and our families fed. Most evenings you'll find a few of us sitting around talking about the next season. It’s a very local, hands-on kind of business. We just do the work that needs doing every single day without much fuss. We help each other with tools.
