Burwan Agri Producer Company Limited

In Vill Beldanga, we have the Burwan Agri Producer Company Limited. It’s run mostly through Sahajahan Mallik, who is the son of Md Nasbatulla Mallik. We use his place as our main point of contact. It’s a local effort, really. All of us are from around here and we know the land well. We started this to stop being so isolated when we sell our grain and vegetables. It’s much better when we talk to each other. We spend many evenings just sitting around and planning the next planting cycle. Sahajahan handles the documents and talks to the bank people. It’s not easy to keep everything straight, but we try our best. The tractors are old and the sun is hot, but we keep at it. We don't have a marketing department. If people want to know about us, they just come to the village and ask. We share what we have, whether it’s a bit of extra seed or a tool that someone else needs. It’s a community thing. Life in Beldanga is slow but busy in the mornings. We aren't looking to become a giant company. We just want to make sure our families are fed and the farm stays in good shape. There’s always something breaking that needs fixing. That’s just part of the job we do every single day.
