You can find Krishi Sanjog Farmers Producer Company Limited over in Vill Poraigram in Murshidabad. We are basically working out of the space belonging to Satya Narayan Roy. It’s a real village setting, nothing like those big offices in the city. We are a group of farmers who decided to get together to make things a bit easier for everyone in the area. Most of us have been working the land around here for our whole lives. We know the soil and we know how the rain behaves in this part of Murshidabad. The office is just a place for us to meet and talk about seeds, fertilizers, and where we’re going to sell our stuff. It’s not fancy at all. We have some chairs and a table where we sit and drink tea while we discuss the day's work. It gets busy during the harvest season and then everyone is out in the fields instead of being here at the office. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just want to make sure that the people growing the food get a fair deal. It’s simple, really. Some days are better than others, especially when the market prices are low, but we stick together. It’s just us, some local farmers trying to do right by each other in Poraigram. We hope the next season is a good one.
