Our group is called Female Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are located at Siddique Villa in Bhola, which is in the Gangdhari and Chandkati area of Berhampore, Murshidabad. Our pin code is 742121. This company is run by women from our local villages who are tired of just working for others all the time. We decided to take charge of our own farming business and see where it goes. We meet up at the villa to discuss what we’re planting and how we’re going to sell it once the harvest is ready. It’s a busy place with a lot of voices, usually everyone talking at once about the crops or the weather. Murshidabad has good soil, and we want to make the most of it for our families. We don't have a professional secretary or a polished website to show off. We just keep our own notes and help each other out with the heavy lifting in the fields. It’s about being independent and making sure women farmers get the respect and the money they deserve for their hard labor. The work is tough and the days start very early in the morning, but we enjoy being our own bosses. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We’re just women from Berhampore who know how to farm and want to do it on our own terms. It’s a practical, local operation that we built ourselves from the ground up.
