Our shop and office are at 56, Tatya Gharpur Path, right at the V P Bedekar Masalewale Chowk in Girgaon. If you’ve been to this part of Mumbai, you know it’s full of history and the streets are quite narrow. We are in Bedekar Sadan No 3, which is an old building that has been around for ages. The whole area often smells like pickles and spices because of what we do. It’s a family-run kind of place, even if it’s a company on paper. We don't have those modern cubicles. Instead, it’s old wooden desks and cupboards filled with records. People from the neighborhood stop by all the time, not just for business but just to say hello. It’s a busy atmosphere with the sound of the city right outside the window. We spend our days managing the spice blends and making sure the jars are filled and labeled. There’s a lot of tradition in how we do things, but we don't talk about it in a fancy way; it’s just how we were taught by the ones before us. The floors are worn down from all the years of people walking on them, and we like it that way. It’s a crowded, noisy, and lively place to work. We just keep our heads down and make sure the quality stays the same as it was yesterday. Around four o'clock, we usually have our evening tea.
