Ruchi International

Our office for Ruchi International is located at 16 Laheri Mansion in the 2nd Khetwadi lane of Bhuleshwar. It’s a busy spot, like most of this part of town, with a lot of history in the walls of these old buildings. We spend a lot of time on the phone or going through stacks of invoices and shipping documents. The stairs up to the second floor are narrow, so we have to be careful when we are bringing up samples or boxes of stock. It isn’t a large space, but we make it work by stacking things high and keeping the desks close together. You can hear the sounds of the local market and the shouting of vendors from the street below all day long. Sometimes we have to close the windows just to hear ourselves talk, but then it gets too hot, so we usually just deal with the noise. We deal with various products and suppliers, which keeps things interesting because every day brings a different kind of problem to solve. It is a lot of coordination and making sure the timing is right for the goods to arrive. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine and how to navigate the messy logistics of this neighborhood. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the piles of paper that seem to grow every single afternoon.
