We are situated in Mittal Tower over at Nariman Point. It’s a well-known building in a very busy part of Mumbai. Even though it’s a big corporate-looking area, our office at Tozai Export Pvt. Ltd. feels more like a small family place. We deal with exports, which means there is a lot of paperwork and phone calls to people in different time zones. Our desks are usually covered in shipping documents and schedules. It’s not always perfectly tidy, especially when a big shipment is moving, but we have our own system. We don’t have a lot of fancy furniture or art on the walls. We just have maps and calendars to keep track of where everything is going. The view of the city is nice, but we usually are too busy looking at our screens to notice it much. We’ve been in this building for quite some years now. You get to know the lift operators and the people in the other offices. It’s a community of its own. We try to keep things grounded. When someone calls us, they talk to a real person, not a recording. We handle the logistics and the stress of moving goods so our clients don’t have to. It’s steady work, and we take it one day at a time, making sure things get where they need to go.
