The Metro Lounge Bar

The address is 1056 in Andheri West, and that is where we spend all our nights. The Metro Lounge Bar isn't some huge place, but it has enough room for the people who know where to find us. Andheri West is a loud part of the city, and the street noise follows you right to the door. We spend a lot of time cleaning glasses and making sure the chairs are in the right place. It’s a lot of physical work that people don't always see. The lights are usually low, which hides some of the scratches on the tables, but we think that gives the place character. We see a lot of different faces every week. Some people come in once and we never see them again, while others have their favorite spot where they sit every Friday. It’s a bit of a grind, keeping a bar running until the early hours. By the time we lock up 1056, the streets of Andheri West are finally starting to get quiet. We don't have a big mission or anything like that. We just want to have a place where people can go. The fridge hums loudly in the back, and the floorboards sometimes creak under the rug. It’s an honest kind of place. We handle the bills, deal with the deliveries, and keep the doors open for whoever shows up. It’s just a job, but it’s our job.
