You can find us over at C/228 in the Bonanza Industrial Estate. It’s in Kandivali East, which is a really busy part of the suburbs. The estate is always buzzing with activity. There are trucks loading and unloading at all hours. Our space is mostly taken up by boxes and packing materials. Being in the export business, we spend a lot of time checking lists and making sure everything is wrapped up tight. It’s not a glamorous job. The warehouse gets quite stuffy when the sun is beating down on the roof. We have a few big fans, but they only do so much. We’ve been in this unit for a while, and we’ve gotten to know the security guards and the guys at the tea stall around the corner. Every day is a cycle of counting items, taping up cartons, and labeling them for wherever they’re going. Sometimes there’s a delay with the transport, and the whole place gets backed up with pallets. We just work around them. It’s a practical environment. We don’t have fancy carpets or paintings on the walls. It’s just concrete floors and metal shelving. We focus on the task at hand and try to stay on top of the paperwork. It’s a lot of physical work, moving things around and making sure the counts are right before the truck leaves. We aren't doing anything fancy, just getting the goods where they need to go.
