Our shop, Star Watch, is right there at number 1, near the police station in Malad West. Being so close to the station means there is always something going on outside. The street is usually full of traffic and people shouting, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of ticking. I’ve been here for quite some time now. I handle the repairs myself, mostly. It is a lot of sitting and staring at small things. Sometimes my eyes get tired, so I take a break and watch the people go by outside the window. We get a lot of regulars who live in the nearby buildings. They bring in their watches when the time starts running slow or the glass gets a scratch. I don't have a big staff, it is just a simple operation. I keep my tools in a wooden box that I’ve had since I started. Malad West has changed a lot, with new shops opening and closing, but we have stayed right here near the police station. It's a landmark for most folks. I don't spend much on decorations because the watches on the wall are enough. Every morning, I wind the ones that need it. It’s a habit now. People know they can just drop in and ask a question. We don't do anything complicated, just honest repair work on whatever comes through the door.
