Sona Watch Co

My grandfather started Sona Watch Co a long time ago. We are right over here at 21 Opposite Garuda Hotel in the Bagmane Tech Park area. It's a busy spot in Byrasandra, Kandivali. Mostly we just sit at the bench all day looking through those tiny magnifying glasses. Some days it is quiet, other days people come in with watches that stopped working years ago. We try to see if a new battery or a little oil helps. Most folks around here know where the Garuda Hotel is, so we are easy to find. Working with gears and springs is what we do. It’s not fancy. The shop is small and has a lot of old tools lying around. People drop by on their way to work at the tech park. Sometimes we talk about the traffic or the weather while I open up a watch case. Kandivali has changed a lot since we opened, but the watches still need fixing. It takes a steady hand and some patience. We keep the lights on and wait for the next person to walk through the door with a broken strap or a cracked glass. It’s just how we spend our days. If you're walking past the hotel, you'll see our sign. Nothing much has changed inside the shop for years. We just keep doing the work, one watch at a time, keeping track of the hours while we fix everyone else's clocks. That is how it goes here every single day.
