About Shree Balaji Glasswaree And Handicrafts Impex – Art & Craft in Mumbai
We operate out of 99, Bhandari Street, which is a place that stays pretty crowded throughout the day. Our space is filled with all sorts of glassware and different handcrafted items we’ve gathered. It’s a bit of a maze inside with boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling. You have to be careful where you walk because glass is fragile and accidents happen if you aren't paying attention. We spend a lot of time packing things. Wrapping items in newspaper or bubble wrap takes up a good portion of our afternoon. We deal with a lot of different people, some looking for decorative pieces for their homes and others who are buying for their own shops. It’s not a quiet job. There’s always the sound of tape dispensers and people moving crates around. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It’s more of a working warehouse feel where the main priority is keeping the inventory organized. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find a specific vase or a particular handicraft when the stock is high, but we eventually get it sorted. The street outside is narrow, so loading the delivery vans can be a bit of a headache with all the traffic passing by. We’ve been at this for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change, but our daily routine of checking the stock and shipping out orders stays the same. We just keep our heads down and get the boxes out on time.
