Sanyam Exports Co is located at 118 Brick Bunder, inside Mahavir Nagar within the Milan Industrial Estate. It’s a typical industrial setting, very practical and focused on the job at hand. There are always pallets being moved around and the sound of tape dispensers as we pack up boxes for shipping. The air in the estate can get a bit heavy, especially in the afternoons, but we have some big fans to keep the air moving. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now, and we know the layout of the estate like the back of our hands. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a fancy meeting. We usually just talk over the crates or while standing near the loading dock. There’s a lot of checking lists and making sure the labels are stuck on straight. We have a small office tucked into the corner of the warehouse where we keep the records and handle the phone calls. It’s a bit dusty, no matter how much we sweep, but that’s just how it is in an industrial area like Mahavir Nagar. We get our supplies from the nearby shops and know the drivers who come by to pick up the freight. It’s a lot of routine work, but we take it one day at a time and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s just us, some cardboard boxes, and a lot of shipping tape.
