Quereshi Export House

Nagdevi Street is always crowded, and we are right in the thick of it at Quereshi Export House. Our place is on the third floor of Block 9. If you know the area, you know how hard it can be to move boxes up and down those stairs, but we’ve been doing it a long time now. It’s mostly about managing the paperwork for the stuff going out and making sure the counts are right before things get loaded. Sometimes the lift works, sometimes it doesn’t, so you just get used to the climb. The office isn't fancy, just some desks and files everywhere because that’s what export work looks like. We spend a lot of time on the phone with customs people or checking the trucks. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going and stay busy. Most of us have been working in this building for years, so we know the neighbors and the tea stall guy downstairs pretty well. There’s always someone coming in to check on a shipment or drop off some documents. We just try to get the orders sorted and out the door without too much fuss. It's a lot of coordination, making sure the labels match and the destinations are clear. You learn to live with the noise of the street while you type up the manifests. That's just how the day goes here on Nagdevi Street.
