Patel Watch Centre

Patel Watch Centre is located at number 1 in the Dawansing Industrial Estate, which is right near the railway station in Vile Parle West. Because we’re so close to the station, we hear the trains going by all day long. It’s a constant sound that we don’t even notice anymore. The industrial estate is a busy place with a lot of different businesses tucked into small spaces. Our shop is one of those. We’ve got a workbench that’s seen better days and a lot of small drawers filled with crowns, stems, and crystals. People dropping off their watches are usually on their way to catch a train or just getting off one. They’re often in a hurry, so we try to keep things simple. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on being in a convenient spot and knowing how to fix a watch. Vile Parle West has a very specific feel to it, and being in the Dawansing area means we see a lot of the working crowd. We’ve spent years hunched over watches, replacing batteries, and fixing broken links. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy. The shop is a bit dusty sometimes, and the shelves are crowded with clocks that people forgot to pick up, but it’s where we spend our days near the station. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to come in with something that needs fixing at our bench.
