Pankaj Exports is located up on the 11th floor of Krishna Gavinda Towers, over in Sector-24 of Vashi. Being up that high gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at the paperwork on our desks. Vashi is a busy hub, and being in Sanpada makes it easy for us to stay connected with the ports and the main markets. We focus on exporting goods, which means our schedule is often dictated by time zones and shipping schedules. It’s common for us to be in the office late or early depending on who we need to call. The office itself is pretty functional. We have some desks, a lot of filing cabinets, and a coffee machine that gets a lot of use. It’s a small operation, so we don't have different departments for everything. Usually, whoever is closest to the phone picks it up. We deal with various types of merchandise depending on what the current demand is. Sometimes the customs rules change and we have to spend days figuring out the new forms, which is frustrating but just part of the export life. We try to keep things simple and honest with our clients. We aren't interested in big talk; we just want to get the containers moved and the payments settled. It's just a regular business trying to do things right in a competitive world.
