Nirali Handicrafts is located over in Ghatkopar West at number 2. It’s near the H O area. Our shop is full of things we’ve gathered or made. There are stacks of fabric and wooden pieces in almost every corner. It smells like sawdust and old cloth in here most of the time. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s just a few of us working with our hands. Sometimes a piece doesn't turn out quite right, so we have to start over. That’s just part of how it goes. The shelves are a bit wobbly, but they hold everything up for now. We don't have a big marketing team or a shiny showroom. You just walk in and see what we are working on that day. People from the neighborhood stop in to chat even if they aren't buying anything. It gets a bit crowded during the festival seasons because we have so much extra stock. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread or wood shavings. We sweep up at the end of the day, but by the next morning, it’s messy again. We’ve been here in Ghatkopar for a long time. It’s a good place for a small business like ours. We just keep making things and hope people find a use for them. It's simple, honest work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We don't use fancy machines, just our tools and some patience.
