Amina Crafts

Amina Crafts is tucked away in the Vindeshwari Housing Society over here in Nehru Nagar. It is not some big factory or anything fancy, just a room where we keep all the supplies and do the work. My family started this because we liked making things by hand. Most days you will find us sitting on the floor surrounded by fabrics, threads, and whatever else we are using that week. The 90 Feet Road outside is always noisy, but once you get inside the society, it is a bit quieter for us to focus. We mostly handle small orders for people in the neighborhood and some shops nearby. Sometimes the space feels too small when we have a lot of materials arriving at once. There is always dust from the cutting and scraps of cloth everywhere, but that is just how it goes when you are working. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to stitch and glue things properly. It takes time to get things right, and we do not like to rush. People know where to find us in A-104 if they need something specific made. We just keep our heads down and get the job done. It’s been a few years now at this spot and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the place. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the rain makes things difficult, but we manage.
