N. K. Handcraft

Our shop is up on the second floor of Raghuleela Mega Mall in Kandivli. It’s Shop 109, and honestly, it’s a bit of a trek from the main entrance, especially if the escalators are being serviced. We are situated right behind the Poisar Bus Depot, so you can always hear the buses pulling in and out if you listen closely. N. K. Handcraft is where I spend almost all my time. The mall environment is different from the street shops I grew up in; it's a lot of artificial light and air conditioning. We have a lot of items crammed onto the shelves, mostly things we have picked up or worked on ourselves. It gets quite busy on Sunday afternoons with families walking around, but the weekdays are mostly quiet. I usually spend those slow hours fixing things or rearranging the display. It isn't a very large shop, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over with your bag. My brother helps me out on the weekends so I can take a break. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just see us when they are heading to the cinema or the food court. We just try to keep the shop looking decent and stay friendly with the other shopkeepers on the floor. It is a decent way to spend the day and we like being here.
