Modern Watch Co

We have been operating out of Shop No 288 on Yusuf Meharali Road for quite a long time now. Being so close to the Mumbadevi Temple in Masjid Bunder West means there is always a lot of noise and people walking by outside our door. It is a busy part of the city and our shop is small, but we make it work. Most of the day is spent hunched over a workbench with a magnifying glass stuck to one eye. My father was the one who really got this place going, and I just learned everything by watching him handle the tiny gears and springs. We see all kinds of watches here. Some are very old pieces that haven't ticked in years and others are just basic ones that need a new battery or a strap. The dust from the street is a bit of a problem, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning or bright lights, just a regular shop where we do our work. Sometimes the parts we need for an old watch are hard to find, so customers have to be a bit patient with us. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us who know how to fix things. It’s a simple way to spend the day, and we like being part of this neighborhood.
