Our place is in the Ismail Building, right across from Akbarallys in the Fort area. It’s an old building with a lot of character, and you can feel the history when you walk through the doors. Being at number 381 means we are right in the middle of all the bustle. Fort is always crowded with people going to their offices or tourists walking around looking at the old architecture. We’ve got our glass counters and the rows of items we keep on display. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass. It’s a simple setup with a few benches for people to sit on if they are waiting for something. We listen to the traffic outside and the occasional horn honking. The lights inside are a bit yellow, which gives the place a warm feel when it gets dark outside. Most of the people who come in are regulars who have been living or working in this part of town for years. We know their names and what they usually need. It’s not a huge shop, but it’s enough for what we do. We keep the registers and the tools in the back. Usually, one of us is at the front while the others are busy fixing things or checking the stock. It’s a good spot to see the world go by. We just focus on getting the work done right and keeping the inventory in order.
