We are tucked away in Borivli (East) at C-103, Krishna, in the Shantivan area. Meena Handicrafts is a small setup, really. It’s more of a home-based feel than a big commercial warehouse. We handle a lot of different handmade things. Most of the time, the living room area is filled with boxes and half-finished projects. It can get a bit messy, but that is how it is when you’re working with your hands. We started this because we liked the way local crafts looked. Now, it’s just what we do every day. We talk to the people who make the items and then we figure out who wants to buy them. There’s a lot of back and forth on the phone. Shantivan is a nice enough place, and being in Borivli means we are close to a lot of things, though the traffic can be a pain. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just a few of us making sure the handicrafts are packed right so they don't break. Sometimes we run out of tape or boxes and have to run down to the local store. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of business. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to sell some nice things that people made with care. If you're in the neighborhood, you'll see us moving crates around or labeling packages.
