Matin Textiles

We are based right here in Mumbai Central. Our shop is on the ground floor, which makes it easy for folks to drop in. It's quite close to J J Hospital, so there is always some activity outside on the street. We deal with all kinds of fabrics and textiles. There are stacks of cloth everywhere you look. Some days are just spent moving rolls from one corner to the other. It gets a bit dusty but that is part of the job. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most people find us because they are already in the area for something else. We don’t have fancy displays. It is just a workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the tea seller comes by and we take a break. It's a simple operation. We see a lot of regular faces who need a few meters of this or that. It is not a huge place, but we keep enough stock to stay busy. Being near the hospital means the area never really sleeps. We open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished. There is no big secret to how we work. We just show the fabric, measure it out, and cut it. If you walk past the ground floor, you will likely see us through the door.
