Mali (India) Exports

Our office is on the third floor of Chitalia House, which is located at 274/276 on Dr. Gawasji Hormusji Street. It’s right in the heart of Dhobi Talao. If you know Mumbai, you know this area is always crowded and full of life. The building is one of those old ones with the narrow staircases that make you huff a bit by the time you reach the top. Inside, it’s mostly desks piled high with papers and samples of things we export. It is a bit cramped, but we make it work. The windows look out over the street, and we can hear the taxis honking all day long. We deal with a lot of international shipping, so the phones are always ringing at odd hours. It is a bit chaotic, but there is a system to the madness. We don't have any marble floors or fancy lighting. It’s just an old-school office where we do our business. Most of the staff have been here for years and we know the tea seller downstairs by name. Sometimes the lift doesn't work, so we end up carrying boxes up and down the stairs. It keeps us fit, I suppose. We just focus on getting the shipments out on time. It is a busy life in an old part of the city, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
