Our shop is at Sai Niwas in the Kelwadi area, right along L J Road. We started out with just watches, but then everyone started carrying phones, so we had to learn how to handle those too. Now we do a bit of both. It's a small place near Atam Park. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the main junction, but we still get a good amount of foot traffic. We fix screens, look at charging ports, and still do the usual watch repairs like we always have. The workbench is usually cluttered with tiny screws and parts from different devices. We keep a few basic accessories around because people always lose their chargers or need a new glass protector. It’s just a few of us working here. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Mumbai. We just want to be the place where neighbors can drop off a phone or a watch and pick it up later. Sometimes the repairs are tricky and take a couple of days, especially if we have to wait for a specific part to arrive. We spend a lot of time under the desk lamps looking at small circuits. The shop is nothing fancy, just a counter and some shelves. We open around ten and usually close up when the street gets quiet at night. It’s a steady life and we know most of the people on this block by name. It keeps us fed and it is good to be useful to the people here.
