Lahairoi Handicrafts

Our little workspace is located at 2/604 in Malad West, specifically over in Periyar Nagar on 6th Cross. It is not a store with a big window display or anything like that. It is more of a place where we actually sit and make things. The room is usually filled with the smell of wood, fabric, and glue. There are boxes stacked up in the corners and tools scattered across the workbenches. We spend a lot of time working with our hands, trying to get the details right on whatever piece we are working on that day. Malad can be a very busy and crowded place, but inside here, it feels a bit different. We are not a big factory; it is just a few of us who enjoy making handicrafts. Sometimes we get things wrong and have to start over, which is frustrating but that is just how it goes. My hands are usually stained with dye or a bit dusty from sanding. People from the neighborhood sometimes drop by to see what we are working on or to pick up something they asked us to make. It is a quiet kind of life, mostly focused on the physical work in front of us. We do not have a website or anything fancy, we just rely on people knowing where we are. It is a simple operation, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening.
