You can find Koras Handicrafts & Gifts over at A/9, right near Thomas Cook by Law Garden in Andheri East. This part of Andheri is always moving, especially with all the offices and people commuting. We focus on handicrafts mostly. It’s a bit different from the plastic stuff you see everywhere. We like things that feel like they were actually made by someone. The shop is small and tucked away, so you have to look for the A/9 sign. We have been at this location for a bit, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The morning rush is always something else. We spend our time talking to suppliers and trying to find interesting pieces that people might want to put in their homes. It’s not always easy because handicrafts can be delicate. We do our own packing and sometimes things get a bit messy in the back room. We aren't a big chain, so every item we have is something we picked out ourselves. It’s a lot of work but it feels right. People coming from Thomas Cook often stop by while they are waiting or just passing through. We don't push people to buy anything; they can just look around. It’s a relaxed place in the middle of a very busy Andheri East. We just try to keep the shelves full and the dust off the items as much as we can.
