You can find us at Monami Apartments in Juhu, specifically on the third floor in Flat D. It’s right behind Chandan Cinema, so we often hear the muffled sounds of the crowds when a big movie is playing. Being in an apartment means it’s a bit cramped, but we’ve made it work. There are shelves along every wall filled with materials and finished pieces. The light comes in really well through the windows in the morning. We do a lot of our work by hand, so having that natural light is important. Sometimes the lift in the building is out of order, and we have to carry everything up the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. It’s a creative space, so it isn’t always tidy. There are scraps of fabric and bits of thread usually scattered on the floor by the end of the day. We try to keep it organized, but when we are busy, things just pile up. It’s a small team of us working here. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to keep things lively. People know us in Irish Park because we’ve been here quite some time. It’s a busy part of Juhu, but once you step inside our flat, it’s just us and our projects. It’s a comfortable place to spend the day, even if the space is a bit tight and we have to shuffle boxes.
