We are based at 68 Kalbadevi, which is a place that never really stops moving. If you’ve ever walked through the streets here, you know it’s a maze of shops and offices. We’ve been operating from this spot for quite some time, focusing on exports. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure containers are ready to go. Our office is old, like most of the buildings in this part of town, but it works for what we do. We don’t have any fancy furniture or a reception area. It’s mostly desks piled with documents and phones that don’t stop ringing. Kalbadevi has a specific energy, and we are right in the middle of it. We deal with different kinds of goods, shipping them out to various places. It’s a lot of logistics and coordination. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we spend all day on the phone trying to fix it. That’s just the nature of the export business. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. We are just a small team working out of this room. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. We know the other shopkeepers on the street, and we grab tea from the same guy every afternoon. It’s a very grounded way to work. We just focus on getting the shipments out on time and keeping the records straight for our customers.
