Jay Time

Jay Time is situated at 192 Kitab Mahal, right across from Central Camera in the Fort area. Kitab Mahal is a very old and beautiful building, and it has a lot of history that you can feel when you walk through the doors. We spend our days surrounded by watches and clocks of all kinds. Fort is one of the busiest parts of Mumbai, so there is always a crowd of people outside and plenty of noise from the cars and buses. Being opposite Central Camera makes it easy for people to find us, as it’s a big landmark in the neighborhood. Our shop has a very traditional feel to it. We don't have any of those modern, minimalist designs you see in the malls. Instead, we have glass cases filled with watches and a small area where we do repairs. The high ceilings of Kitab Mahal help keep the place a bit cooler, which is a relief during the summer months. Most of our customers are people who work in the nearby offices or locals who have been coming to us for years. We don't do any big promotions or fancy marketing. We just open up the shop and do our work as best as we can. It’s a straightforward life and we enjoy being part of the history of this building and this part of the city. We just take each day as it comes and focus on the watches. It is what it is.
