Janki Overseas

Our office is over in Chira Bazar, inside the Pratap Building. We are on the second floor, which is number 171. It’s right in the Adarsh Nagar area on Dr A B Road. Chira Bazar is always full of life and a bit chaotic, so getting into the building can be a bit of a squeeze sometimes. The stairs are narrow and have that old building feel to them. Once you get to the second floor, our place is right there. It’s a simple setup with a few desks and some filing cabinets. We deal with overseas matters, so there’s usually a lot of paperwork and forms lying around. The rooms aren't very big, but we have enough space for the staff and a few visitors. The lighting is just standard fluorescent tubes. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars and maybe a map. You can hear the sounds of the street from the windows—lots of honking and people shouting. It’s just how it is in this part of Mumbai. We spend most of the day on the phone or typing things up. It’s a busy little office, but it’s far from being a corporate suite. We just handle the daily tasks as they come. It’s an honest, working environment in a very old part of town. The wooden furniture has been here since we opened and it still holds up just fine for our daily needs.
