Jackson Exports (India)

Working out of 29, Silk House at 630, J. Shankar Seth Road means dealing with the constant buzz of the city. Jackson Exports (India) has been in this building for quite some time. Silk House is one of those older places with a lot of character, and maybe a few too many stairs to climb every day. Our office is usually filled with the sound of the phone ringing or the printer going off. It’s a lot of coordinating between different people and making sure the crates get to where they’re supposed to go. J. Shankar Seth Road is always crowded, so getting anything delivered or picked up takes a bit of planning around the traffic. We don't have a big team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering emails to taping up boxes when the need arises. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we stay late when a big order is going out, and the street outside finally starts to quiet down. We’ve got some old wooden desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days, but they serve their purpose well enough. It’s a practical space for a practical business. We don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders because we're usually too focused on the actual work. It’s just how we operate here in the middle of everything.
