We run Indian Crafts from Unit No. 1 on the third floor of our building in Mahim. It’s situated right near the Star City Cinema, so it’s a pretty easy spot to locate if you’re in the area. We work with various handcrafted items, mostly things made from wood, fabric, or clay. It’s not a huge operation. Most of our space is taken up by workbenches and shelves filled with finished pieces and raw materials. We spend our time looking at details and making sure things are put together right. Sometimes a piece doesn't turn out how we wanted, so we have to start over. That’s just part of the process. We aren't trying to be a massive factory; we prefer keeping things small so we can actually see what’s going on. Mahim is a great neighborhood with a lot of history, and being near the cinema means there’s always people walking around. We get a fair amount of dust and noise, but it’s a good place to work. Our team is just a few folks who have a knack for making things with their hands. We don't have a glossy catalog or a big sales team. Usually, we just show people what we’ve been working on and let the work speak for itself. It’s a simple life, focused on the stuff we make here on the third floor. We’ve been here for a while and like the rhythm of it.
