Heritage India

Our place, Heritage India, is located over on Sola Road in Kandivali East. It is a pretty busy neighborhood, and there is always some kind of construction or road work happening nearby that makes things a bit dusty. We handle a lot of different items that reflect the traditional side of things, which is why the name fits, I guess. The shop is not massive, so we have to be quite clever with how we stack our boxes and display the stock so we don't trip over everything. Kandivali has changed a lot over the years, but Sola Road still feels like a local hub where everyone knows where to find what they need. We usually start the day by checking what arrived in the latest delivery and trying to find space for it on the shelves. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting things and moving furniture or crates around. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just us in the shop, dealing with customers who walk in from the street. The afternoon sun hits the front of the store quite hard, so we usually keep the blinds halfway down to stay a bit cool. We just focus on keeping the inventory interesting and making sure we can find whatever it is someone is looking for in the back. It is a simple, honest business and we just take each day as it comes.
