Guptajis Banjara

Guptajis Banjara is located in Andheri West, which is a very busy part of the suburbs. The shop is a basic eatery where we serve a variety of dishes. We don't have much of a decor, just some simple chairs and tables that have seen a lot of use. The kitchen is visible from the seating area, and you can see the smoke and steam rising all day. We start our prep work at dawn, getting the spices ground and the meat or vegetables ready for the day's cooking. Andheri West is always full of people looking for a quick meal, and we get a lot of office workers and students. The noise from the main road is always there in the background. We have a small staff of three people who handle everything from cooking to cleaning the tables. The floor is made of simple grey tiles. We don't have a printed menu; most people just ask what’s ready. It gets very busy during the lunch hour, and we have to move fast to keep up. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and we know many of the faces that come through the door. It’s a plain, honest place to get a meal without any fuss. We close up late at night after everything has been mopped and the remaining food is stored away. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we can't seem to fix, but it keeps the air moving. We just keep doing our thing day after day.
