Our spot is over in Borivali West, right on Rsc 37 Road near Pragati Vidyalaya. Most days, we’re busy handling all the different things that come in from the weavers and craftspeople across Gujarat. It’s a lot of boxes and looking at fabrics. The office is usually quite full of stuff, and since we are on Plot 321/341, we get a good amount of foot traffic from people walking by the school. We’ve been at this for a while now. It isn't always quiet here, especially in the mornings when everything is being moved around. The handloom side of things keeps us on our toes because there’s always something new arriving from the villages. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the stitching and the patterns on the clothes. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a quick break, but mostly it’s just work. We like being in this part of town because it feels like a real neighborhood. There is always someone coming in to ask about a specific type of craft or just to see what we have on the shelves today. It’s practical work, really. We just make sure the items get where they need to go and that the records are kept straight in our ledgers. It gets a bit dusty with all the textiles, but that’s just how it is when you deal with handmade goods.
