If you're looking for Crown Arts, you'll find us on M.S. Ali Road, right next to the Novelty Cinema. If you see the HDFC Bank or the Sheetal place across the way, you know you’re in the right spot here in Grant Road East. It’s a busy part of the city, so there’s always a lot of noise from the street and people heading into the movies. We’ve been here for a while, dealing with all sorts of artistic things and supplies. The shop is often a bit cluttered because we have so many different bits and pieces crammed onto the shelves. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually get there in the end. We don't have a big marketing department or anything; it’s just us working behind the counter and making sure the shop stays open. The floor is a bit worn down from people walking in and out, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. It’s an honest way to make a living, selling things to people who enjoy making stuff. We see a lot of regular faces from the neighborhood, which makes the days go by faster. When the cinema lets out, the sidewalk gets really crowded, but we just stay inside and keep organizing our stock until it's time to head home for the night and start again tomorrow.
