Ekco Watch Co

Our shop is number 85 on Abdul Rehman Street. It is right next to the State Bank of India, so that is a good landmark if you are looking for us. Being at the Char Rasta in Masjid Bunder West means it is always loud and full of people moving around. Ekco Watch Co has been here through a lot of changes in the neighborhood. We mostly spend our time looking at small parts under a magnifying glass. People bring in watches that stopped working years ago or just need a new battery to get going again. It is a small shop, tucked away in the row of stores. You see all kinds of people coming through here. Some are in a big hurry because the station is so close, while others stay and chat while we check their watch. The workbench is always a bit of a mess with tools and tiny screws, but I know where everything is. We do not really do much advertising. Mostly, someone tells a friend about us or they see the sign while walking to the bank. Dealing with watches takes a lot of patience and steady hands. My eyes get tired by the end of the day, but that is just how it is. It is a simple life running a watch shop in such a busy part of Mumbai. We are just here every day, opening up and waiting for the next person.
