Deluxe Time

Jogeshwari West is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it on Station Road. Deluxe Time is basically just across from the railway station, so we hear the announcements all day long. It's a small space, nothing too big or special. We spend most of our time sitting at the bench looking at small parts. The dust from the road comes in sometimes, so we have to keep cleaning the glass counters every few hours. It's mostly just me and one other guy here. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the name on the front. People stop by when they’re heading to the platform or coming back after a long day at work. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings us a cutting, and we take a break for five minutes when things are quiet. It’s a lot of work dealing with the tiny screws and springs in these watches, especially when your eyes get tired. The building is old, and the walls could use a bit of paint, but it works fine for us. We have a lot of regulars from the neighborhood who’ve been coming here for years. They usually just drop things off and pick them up a few days later. It’s not a complicated business. We just stay open until the last crowd leaves the station. It gets pretty humid in the afternoons, but once the sun goes down, it’s not too bad at all.
